Background - Lamborghini in celebration of the company's 25th anniversary, released a further restyled version of its celebrated iconic Countach.
It was revealed in 1988 at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza and has become the most memorable and widely recognised Countach to date, it is fondly remembered by enthusiasts for not only its signature styling, but pedigree born out of 15-years of Countach evolution dating back to 1973…
The Countach is the original supercar, an icon of the 70 & 80’s and today it still commands attention and respect wherever it travels, from parting traffic or creating crowds of car lovers.
Horacio Pagani was tasked with updating this iconic Gandini-penned bodywork. He made subtle changes to the nose and redesign the air intakes to more effectively channel air to the Girling ventilated front disc brakes. At the same time, the rear bumper also received styling enhancements. Other notable changes were made to the body air intakes, located just behind the door and the two-piece chrome forged alloy wheels.
Overall, there are over 400 tweaks when compared to its predecessor, the 5000 QV, the new 25th Anniversary retained the same striking visual lines and incredible performance that Lamborghini's customers had come to know and love.
Inside, Lamborghini upgraded the Countach's relatively spartan appointments to include all-new power windows and upgraded factory fitted sports seats, secondary floor covers which are displayed in this rare example. This car also has a factory fitted sports exhaust. A newly designed steering wheel was fitted, as was a more powerful air conditioning system. Overall, the new Countach was comfortable but quick, with an estimated top speed of 295 km/h with 0-100 km/h in well under five seconds. Even by today’s standards it is still a hugely capable car and corners on rails as displayed during a Top Gear track test. In the 2 years that the car was produced from 88' to 90' just 658 were built.
This car is one of only 57 RHD cars produced, this particular example has covered 17,581 Km (10,988 miles). Originally supplied new by Portman Lamborghini in July 1989. Presented in its original colour combination of Rosso Savaglia with Champagne hide. First serviced in February 1990 by Lamborghini Portman.
The current owner a Lamborghini/Supercar collector acquired this car in 2002, his second. With the view of not driving it, having already completed 55k miles in a similar car, he wanted to preserve the artistry and legend of the Countach. Now that he is moving abroad, he is selling his collection. It is now time for someone else to love and adore this phenomenal piece of history. This car has been stored covering little mileage for the last 19 years.
The car has recently been completely overhauled, serviced and MOT on March 23rd, 2021 and is ready for a new home.
This is the latest arrival into Kent’s Sport Cars personal collection. Given it's fantastic, history and low mileage this is truly one of the very best examples offered for sale anywhere in the UK today and a great investment that will continue to apricate."
