We at Kent High Performance Cars would like to congratulate Richard and Toni Snow on a fantastic achievement in their first ever 'Motul Tour Auto 2011'. They finished 15th out of some 230 starters.

The following is extracts from Toni's blog of the event and if you would like to read the entire blog please email us and I will forward you the link:

Day 1: I arrived at the Gare du Nord yesterday evening, having taken the Eurostar from London while Snowy drove his Dino from SW6 to the centre of Paris. The car is now parked along with 229 other classic cars in the Jardin des Tuileries, taking up the entire length of the north side of the gardens. There is every type of classic car here and I know nothing about any of them. My cursory inspection revealed that they are a multitude of different colours, come from all over Europe and all of them have four wheels.

Day 2: Snowy has set the odometer, which I can’t read properly from where I am sitting and which is already 200m out of synch. My job is to shout (you have to shout because it’s so noisy in the car) things like “at three point nine miles take the one o’clock exit from the roundabout and follow signs to Nantes. At four point one nine miles keep the church on the left and veer right around the bus station”. My diagrams show me that there are a huge number of post offices in the banlieu of Paris until I realize that I have misunderstood the drawings and they are in fact just office buildings. I tell Snowy that in two hundred metres we will cross the river. Snowy tells me that we are five miles

Day 4: The noise of cars revving their engines all around me as I write is deafening and the reverberations are coming tingling up through my car seat and giving my bottom a gentle massage. I don’t even know what day it is today, I’m so tired. Day 3? Day 4? Still in France but God knows where.

On a more positive note, I’m getting better at my car names: I am in a race with Ferraris, Maseratis, Caterhams, Jaguars, Morgans, Porsches, Alfa Romeos, Aston Martins, Ligiers, Austin Healeys, Triumphs, BMWs, Lancias, Ford GT40s, Matras, Alpine Renaults, Hondas, Mini Coopers and all sorts of others. I can’t yet reconcile the names with the actual cars but I am learning that the average cost of each car before me is the price of a six bedroom freehold property with attached servants’ quarters in Mayfair. Snowy has just reliably informed me that the car with the squashed snout is a Maserati not a Jaguar. Point made.
